Gaming student Eric Guadara teamed up with Sculpture Professor Winn Rea to bring his game, Highlander, to life.  Eric wanted to transform his cardboard prototype to a fully realized production standard game for his exhibit at Metatopia 2015, the New Jersey Gaming Expo in November 2015.

Guadara found the solution in 3D printing.  Using digital modeling programs he engineered three-dimensional components, ran test prints with the help of Prof. Rea on the Art Department uPrint SE 3D printer, and adjusted parameters so that pieces fit together three-dimensionally as well as worked ergonomically.

The process of visualizing, modeling, testing, and perfecting his game components using 3D printing will elevate Guadara’s game head and shoulders above the competition at the Metatopia Game Expo.  Now all that remains is to see how discerning gamers rate his game–Good luck, Eric!
