LIU POST MFA ALUMS AND CURRENT STUDENT MAKE THEIR MARK ON ARMORY WEEK IN NYC

A group of LIU Post MFA alums and one current student teamed up as the artist collective, H.O.V. (High on Visual-art) and recently showed their work at the Fountain Art Fair during Armory  Arts Week.  The week of art fairs drew over 50,000 visitors to New York, some of whom found their way to the 69th Street Armory to admire and buy the work of recent grads from LIU Post:  Dong Hee Alex Lee (MFA ’12)  sold seven pieces, Emily Harrison Ach (MFA ’13) sold three works,  and current MFA student, Zin Helena Song, sold three pieces.  Another artist in the collective, Eunkyoung Park also sold a piece.  Additional alums in the show were Ok Kim (MFA ’12), Jeong Min Park (MFA ’09), and Jongwon Lee (MFA ’13).

The LIU Post MFA program is an  intensive 60-credit program that offers advanced art students two- or three-year plans of study in painting, printmaking, sculpture, ceramics, photography or computer graphics.  Students select faculty mentors for studio work, participate in seminars on contemporary issues, theory, criticism, and professional practices as well as exhibit their work.  Students and faculty make full use of the vast resources of New York City’s museums, galleries and alternative spaces.  Recent graduates from the MFA program have gone on to positions as college level faculty, curators, museum program coordinators, and arts alliance staff, and artists in  residence.  Inquiries about the program can be directed to Prof. Seung Lee, MFA Program Director, seung.lee@liu,edu.

Fountain Art Fair was founded in 2006 and has grown to represent over 80 international galleries and artist collectives showing in New York, Miami, Chicago, and Los Angeles. More information at http://www.fountainartfair.com
